MADE IN TAIWAN (2004)

MADE IN TAIWAN (2004)
Joanne Leighton creates a dialogue, taking the audience to the heart of the choreographic process. The work leads the public into an exploration of performance codes, structure and the processes involved in the development of a dance piece. The dance is a play on copy, erasure (of parts of the movement, or parts of the body), and the variations that a changing perspective on the same material suggests. The unfolding of the piece is permeated by fractures, interruptions and cuts. Alongside this playful approach to the choreography, Joanne continues her exporation of architectural processes, an ongoing theme of her work.
